Beetroot and lingonberries with cashews

Beetroot and lingonberries with cashews

Beetroot and lingonberries with cashews — a Sotukai variety inspired by Lithuania’s love of beetroot. These Sotukai offer a playful pink colour and an unexpected combination of flavours: subtle berry notes, moderate sweetness and a delightful crunch. Of course, you can taste the beetroot, but only gently, with a distant hint of chilli too. And, of course, cashews bring everything into balance and invite you to enjoy a good chew!

“Sotukai became part of my journey soon after they first appeared on the market. I still remember stopping at their newly opened production workshop on my way to the coast, to meet the team, taste the products and pick up a bag of treats to take with me. Sotukai have been with me ever since. It is lovely to see the Sotukai community grow, with new flavours and places to buy them. As someone who creates healthy-living content on social media, the nutritional benefits of Sotukai matter a great deal to me, and the Keyhole label officially confirms that I have made an excellent choice. Flavour and nutritional value in a little ball that fits perfectly in a desk drawer, travel bag or handbag :)”

Frequently asked questions

Where and how should I store Sotukai?

If you will eat your Sotukai within 2 weeks, they can travel with you in the car or your rucksack, or wait for you at work;

If you will enjoy your Sotukai over 8 weeks, keep them in sealed packaging in the fridge;

If you intend to keep them for more than 2 months, store them in the freezer (you can enjoy them just 15 minutes after taking them out).

It is also important to protect Sotukai from moisture.

Why do Sotukai contain so much berry and fruit powder?

100 grams of berry/fruit powder = 1 kilogram of fresh berries/fruit. That is the simple reason they contain so many vitamins, minerals and fibre.

In other words, a smaller amount gives us more of the nutrients we need to feel well. Sotukai are about health as well as flavour!

Where do the ingredients in Sotukai come from?

First of all, your Sotukai come from our small family-run factory in Kelmė.

Wherever possible, we choose Lithuanian plant-based ingredients for Sotukai. Unfortunately, plants grown in places with more sun and warmth accumulate more valuable nutrients.

Do Sotukai contain lactose?

Research suggests that around 30% of Lithuania’s population experience lactose intolerance. People with this problem are usually advised to avoid dairy products or consume them in small portions. If you are lactose intolerant, Sotukai could be a welcome solution. These little energy balls are made from plant-based ingredients — fruit and berries — and contain no dairy products. You can therefore enjoy delicious treats without worrying about feeling unwell afterwards.

How many Sotukai can I eat?

10 Sotukai = 100 grams. This amount provides half the recommended daily intake of fibre. If eaten all at once and, as we recommend, accompanied by water, this amount of fibre may be too much for your stomach. We suggest eating 4–5 Sotukai when you feel hungry, up to 2 times a day, with a glass of water or tea each time. Please do not eat the whole pack at once, although we are delighted that you might want to!

What are the benefits of fibre?

Fibre helps you feel full, provides energy and helps clear toxins. If you want something interesting and nutritious, with plenty of vitamins and fibre, choose Sotukai!

How can glucose spikes be managed?

We share the opinion of Sandrija Čapkauskienė, PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Associate Professor and Dietitian: the combination of healthy fats, protein, fibre and carbohydrates in Sotukai slows glucose absorption and ensures steady energy and productivity. Healthy fats, protein, fibre, vitamins/minerals and antioxidants — all in a single Sotukai ball. Choose the right amount and a feeling of fullness, high energy levels and stable glucose levels are guaranteed!
We are delighted to offer not only a variety of flavours, but also a snack that helps combat glucose spikes!

Are Sotukai suitable as party snacks?

Choose Sotukai with confidence: serve them in a variety of dishes, as bite-sized snacks or desserts. “Sotukai are not only delicious — they look lovely too!” our customers say.

Do Sotukai contain added sugar?

Sotukai are moderately sweet, with flavour from natural fruit and berries.

What could be better than enjoying a treat while getting plenty of natural vitamins, minerals and fibre from your food?

Are Sotukai high in protein?

Protein is a building block of our bodies. 10 Sotukai contain as much as 12.5 g of protein, so enjoying them also helps you support the development, maintenance and repair of body tissues. Hair, skin, eyes, muscles and organs are all made of protein. Protein is particularly important for growing children, as the continuous growth of their organs and muscles involves the development of additional protein tissue.

Superfood? What does that mean?

The name suggests food that is beneficial and special. How else could we describe food packed with natural antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and other elements essential to the smooth functioning of all the body’s systems? We make Sotukai for you using these so-called superfoods: almonds, cashews, coconut, Medjool dates, apricots, hemp seeds, goji berries, spirulina, chia seeds, matcha, linseed, quince, blackcurrants, sea buckthorn, baobab, raspberries, lingonberries, maca, chilli, turmeric, ginger, cocoa, cardamom and cinnamon.

Are Sotukai suitable for people who cannot tolerate gluten?

Tests have confirmed that Sotukai contain no gluten, making them an excellent choice for people who cannot tolerate it.

I ordered and received them very quickly. I had not expected that… I have tried them and can say I really liked them. Definitely worth at least trying. 🙂 Personally, there was no flavour I disliked. 😉 Wishing you success on your chosen path 🙂

A very tasty and healthy snack — perfect for taking to work. An ideal choice for a light snack or a quick, filling meal. After stomach surgery, it’s especially important for me not to feel weighed down, so I really appreciate that 2–3 Sotukai leave me feeling full but light.

Milda

We took Sotukai on a trip, and the girls and I were 100% won over straight away 🙂 My husband was a little more sceptical, but he gave in too 🙂 A very good option when there is a long gap between meals and you need to put something in your stomach. Even my fussy child agreed to try them and then ate a little at a time. A great product for travelling.

Vilma

Once you have tried them, you cannot stop 😊 Sotukai are a real discovery for me when travelling or hiking. And when I fancy something delicious… Vida
