In my search for plants that are particularly rich in vitamin C for the new Sotukai type, I came across the baobab. The baobab is legendary, known in Africa as the Tree of Life, and in addition to its many valuable nutrients, it has far more vitamin C than kiwifruit or oranges! Baobab fruits ripen on baobab trees in Africa. The fruit has a hard, nut-like shell and white, friable flesh and grows up to 20 centimetres.
Vitamin C helps to fight fatigue and get rid of free radicals that can accelerate the ageing process against our will. In addition, getting enough vitamin C in our diet can help improve metabolism, as it helps to transport oxygen and nutrients throughout the organs of the body.
